Meet the Team
Joseph Hoyda, M.A., R.P. (Qualifying)
Joseph Hoyda is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) based in Huntsville, Ontario. He completed his M.A. degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor and is currently completing his Doctorate.
Joseph utilizes an integrative approach to therapy and customizes treatment plans according to each individual’s specific needs, drawing from a mixture of psychodynamic, emotion-focused, exposure and cognitive-behavioural approaches. As a therapist, Joseph provides a non-judgmental space in which his clients feel free to be their authentic self and explore difficult thoughts and emotions. He specializes in helping his clients navigate beneath the surface of their issue to the root source of what is causing them pain. He believes that true healing and change can only occur when a person learns to face, understand, and radically accept their true self.
Joseph’s research and publications are focused on statistics in psychological research, positive psychology and the relationship between morality and mental health. Joseph has taught undergraduate courses at the University of Windsor and has presented his research and joined discussions at a number of psychology conferences. Prior to his pursuit of psychology, Joseph studied philosophy and music at York University.
